Advance Patterns
The Advance Pattern Company produced sewing patterns from 1933 until 1966, when it was sold to Puritan Fashions and ceased using the Advance name. Known for its association with J.C.Penney and a line of designer patterns featuring names like Adrian and Edith Head, Advance was a major competitor in the home sewing market. The company also holds the distinction of being one of the few authorized by Mattel to create patterns for Barbies.
