Butterick Patterns
The Butterick Pattern Company was founded in 1863 by Ebenezer Butterick, a tailor who invented the first graded sewing pattern by creating multiple sizes for a single design, making home sewing easier for everyone. The company grew by publishing the fashion magazine, The Delineator, to promote its patterns and eventually became the Butterick Publishing Company. After a merger in 2001 with McCall's and subsequent ownership changes, Butterick patterns are now part of the Simplicity Creative Group.
